Breaking news from CBS News’ David Begnaud who is reporting that “all” unaccompanied minor who were separated from their parents will be reunited by Sunday, June 24:

BREAKING: As of Sunday, June 24, US Border Patrol expects that “all unaccompanied children in their custody who were separated from adults who were being prosecuted will have been reunited with their families,” according to a US administration official.

Well, almost all but this is still very good news:

“There will be a small number of children who were separated for reasons other than zero tolerance that will remain separated.” Usually that involves cases where a child alleges abuse by the adult or the adult is accused of separate violent crime.

BREAKING: As of now, @cbp no longer has any kids, who were separated from their parents under “zero tolerance”, in their custody. More than 500 kids have been reunified with their parents, according to the official who added: there’s 0 chance we’ll be able to film a reunification

The narrative that had been developing was one where the kids would never be reunited with their parents or that it would be incredibly difficult to accomplish:

Many migrant mothers separated from their children have no idea how to get them back.

Trump’s a monster.

It is shockingly difficult for immigration attorneys to locate children separated from their parents at the border. Today I spoke to lawyers who represent more than 400 parents. They've located two children.

As Donald Trump tweets "Phony stories of sadness and grief," a traumatized mother and son are reunited. Most of the some 2,000 children separated under Trump policy have not been reunited. https://t.co/dfcrmXQoqQ

The Red Cross says it’s being denied access to federal detention centers where children separated from parents are being held.

When other countries deny relief orgs access to detention centers, the United States used to employ every means available to change that policy. https://t.co/pG9uqai0x4
